About
Answers that the portal itself will never give you
When paying rent or HOA dues online goes wrong, the help you need is almost never on the payment portal — it has no reason to publish it.
Why this site exists
Payment platforms document the happy path. They will tell you how to register and how to schedule a payment. What they will not tell you is why the fee jumped, how to turn autopay off, what to do when a payment posted to the wrong unit, whether the number you found on a search results page is really their support line, or how long a reversal actually takes.
Those answers exist, but they are scattered across expired forum threads, one-star app reviews and half-remembered advice from a leasing office. We pull them together, verify what we can, and write them up in the order a person in a hurry actually needs them.
How we research a guide
- Read the primary source first, then the complaints. Official help centres, terms and fee schedules carry the authoritative answer when one exists; support forums, app store reviews and complaint records show where it breaks down in practice.
- Separate what we know from what we infer. If something varies by property or we could not confirm it, the guide says so instead of guessing confidently.
- Date it. Every guide carries a published and an updated date, so you can see how old the information is before you rely on it.
Our editorial rules
- Answer in the first paragraph. The fix comes before the background.
- Send you to the official source for anything account-specific. We cannot see your account, and we will always point you to the people who can.
- Never ask for credentials. No logins, no card numbers, no bank details — not in a form, not in an email, not ever. See our disclaimer.
- Keep money out of the editorial decision. How the site is funded is set out in full on the disclaimer page. It has no bearing on what our guides conclude.
Who we are not
We are an independent publisher. We are not a payment processor, a property manager, a collections agency or a customer service desk, and we are not affiliated with any of the companies we write about. The full statement is on our disclaimer page; read it before you act on anything here.
